What happens in a breathwork session?

If you’ve never experienced conscious connected breathwork before, it’s natural to wonder what actually happens.

Will it be intense? Will you have to share personal things? Will it feel overwhelming?

The short answer is this. A breathwork session is structured, guided and paced around your nervous system. Nothing is forced.

Here’s what you can expect.

Arriving and settling

Every breathwork session begins slowly.

In a 1:1 breathwork session, there is space to check in and talk about how you’re arriving that day. In group breathwork, you’re guided into a grounded beginning so everyone can settle.

We don’t rush into the breathing practice. Your body needs time to feel safe first.

The guided breathing practice

Conscious connected breathwork uses a continuous breathing rhythm. I guide you through the pattern and offer reminders that you can soften, pause or adjust at any time.

Some people experience emotion. Some feel warmth or tingling. Some simply feel more present.

There is no “correct” experience.

Your body sets the pace.

Integration and grounding

We always close gently.

There is time to rest and integrate before you leave.

  • If you attend online breathwork, you’ll be guided to fully ground yourself before logging off.

  • If you attend in person in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, you’ll have space to gather yourself before returning to your day.

Breathwork is not about dramatic release. It is about building steadiness.
