Nervous system regulation
Online and in-person in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
When your nervous system feels stuck in stress, shutdown or overwhelm, everything else becomes harder.
This work focuses on helping your body return to steadiness, safety and balance.
What is nervous system regulation?
Your nervous system is constantly scanning for safety or threat. When it feels overwhelmed, you might notice anxiety, irritability, exhaustion, sensory overload, or a sense of being constantly on edge.
Nervous system regulation support helps you understand how your system works and build practical tools to support it.

We move at a pace that feels manageable, helping your body feel safe enough to settle.
Nervous System Regulation focuses on stabilisation and practical regulation. If you’re looking for deeper relational body-based therapy, you may want to explore Somatic Therapy instead.
Who this support can help
You might find nervous system regulation helpful if you:
-
Feel anxious or easily overwhelmed
-
Struggle to relax, even when you want to
-
Notice shutdown or emotional numbness
-
Experience sensory overload
-
Are recovering from trauma
-
Feel stuck in fight, flight or freeze
Support is available for adults, teens and children.
Support may include:
Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)
The Safe and Sound Protocol is a gentle listening therapy developed by Dr Stephen Porges, based on Polyvagal Theory.
Using specially filtered music, SSP supports the vagus nerve, a key part of the autonomic nervous system. By engaging this pathway, the body can begin shifting from defence into safety.
Many people find SSP helpful for:
-
Anxiety and low mood
-
Trauma-related symptoms
-
Emotional dysregulation
-
Sensory sensitivities
-
Inattention and focus challenges
-
Social communication difficulties
-
Chronic stress conditions
As a licensed practitioner, I guide you through the process carefully and at a pace that feels safe.
Sessions can be delivered in person in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, or supported remotely.
Sensory integration & coaching
For some people, daily life feels overwhelming because of sensory input. Loud noise, bright lights, constant movement or certain textures can create stress and exhaustion.
As a licensed Sensory Intelligence Practitioner, I offer sensory profiling and coaching to help you understand your unique sensory wiring.
You’ll receive a personalised Sensory Matrix™ report. From there, we build practical strategies to:
-
Reduce sensory overwhelm
-
Strengthen self-regulation
-
Support school, work or family life
-
Develop co-regulation tools
-
Create environments that feel safer and more manageable
This work can be especially supportive for neurodivergent children, teens and adults, including those who are autistic, ADHD, or experience sensory processing differences.
The focus is not on changing who you are. It is on understanding your nervous system, building regulation tools and adapting environments so daily life feels more manageable.
Child Trauma Support
For children who have experienced overwhelming or traumatic events, I offer Child Accelerated Trauma Therapy as part of nervous system regulation support.
CATT combines creative, developmentally appropriate methods with trauma-focused principles. The work is structured, gentle and guided by the child’s readiness.
The emphasis is always on:
-
Safety
-
Pacing
-
Trust
-
Avoiding re-traumatisation
The goal is to reduce the intensity of traumatic memories while strengthening resilience and emotional regulation.
What to expect
Sessions are shaped around your needs or your child’s needs.
We begin with understanding how your nervous system currently responds to stress. From there, we introduce tools gradually and adjust as needed.
Some work may feel practical and educational. Some may feel experiential. All of it is grounded in safety.
